  11.  Firstly, may I say that I would be most grateful for any advice given.

  13. I have a Gateway P5-100 with Windows'95 installed.  This is all very
  14. new to me but I am literate and competent of following all directions
  15. to the last.  I am constantly trying to install a USR Sportster 14.4 Vi
  16. external modem which W'95 refuses to acknowledge.  I have tried to
  17. install it manually on COM1 and COM2 but to no avail.  Is there sowhere
  18. else that I have to make changes (ie with COM settings) so that W'95
  19. will accept the modem.  
  20. Please do not suggest getting USR support as the words I could use on
  21. them are not fit for anyones ears.
  22. If anybody has any suggestions I would be delighted because after 3
  23. weeks I am clueless and desperate.
